About the Artist
Mary Anne Brooks
Description of work:Acrylic and watercolor painting and Raw Photography. Other than cropping, I do not alter my photos. I shoot locally in Missouri and Illinois parks, lakes and rivers. I am captivated by scenic vistas, reflections on water and cloud formations. Included in my work are unique shots of wildlife and macro florals. Many of my paintings are inspired by my photographs. If you look closely, many paintings include a bit of wildlife: perhaps a little bird, a snake, or a turtle. Keep looking!
Painting:I began painting with oils in high school and college, mainly portraits and people, but now prefer to paint landscapes, birds, and recently exploring mixed media. . I have enjoyed participating in a variety of painting and drawing workshops at SLCC Meramec Campus and The Green Door Gallery in Webster Groves. As a selling artist, I am always looking to improve technique, composition and knowledge. My work has been accepted into juried competitions and is currently exhibited in public and private collections. Active Memberships:Saint Louis Artists GuildSt. Peter's Cultural Arts Center
